Evaluation of Adsorption Mechanism of Chromium(VI) Ion Using Ni-Al Type and Ni-Al-Zr Type Hydroxides

To evaluate the feasibility of nickel–aluminum (the Ni2+:Al3+ molar ratios 1.0:1.0 and 1.0:2.0 are denoted as NA11 NA12, respectively) nickel–aluminum–zirconium type Ni2+:Al3+:Zr4+ 0.9:1.0:0.09 0.9:2.0:0.09 NAZ1 NAZ2, hydroxides for Cr(VI) removal from aqueous media, adsorption capability mechanism using above-mentioned adsorbents were investigated in this study. The quantity adsorbed onto NA11, NAZ1, NAZ2 was 25.5, 25.6, 24.1, 24.6 mg g−1, respectively. However, aluminum (base metal) released (approximately 0.14 g−1) higher than that 1.0 µg g−1), indicating more suitable NA11. In addition, effects pH, contact time, temperature on evaluated.
